EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EFA)

STEP believes those who currently serve or have served in our Armed Forces need to be mission-ready in all aspects of their lives, including financial well-being. As a non-profit founded by Veterans, we know the lifestyle challenges that come with volunteering to serve your country. We are familiar with the expenses associated with the job, many of which are not reimbursed. And there is no denying the pay is low.

STEP's Emergency Financial Assistance (EFA) program focuses on ensuring you do not lose a basic need, while developing an individualized plan for your overall financial well-being now, and for the future. Your personal Social Worker, certified in Financial Counseling, will work one-on-one with your current situation, and help you get on a path to financial self-sufficiency. In some cases, a grant* will be required to help get you there.

EFA program is open to all active duty, Veteran, Reservist and their spouse of any branch or era.

*qualifications to receive a grant are active duty service members E1-E6, transitioning up to 18 months post-service, currently stationed in Southern California or Washington state, and have a verifiable financial crisis - as defined by a documented imminent loss of a basic need.
