"We could not believe everything we were able to get not only for the new baby, but also our other three children. I can’t express how grateful we are for your service to us."
Military personnel and their families face many of the same financial management challenges as civilians. Like most adults, they must continually grapple with everyday financial decisions like budgeting and bill paying while also managing long-term considerations like retirement planning and debt management. However, being in the military also involves unique circumstances and stresses that can make financial management even more difficult: deployments, frequent changes of station (PCS) and prolonged separation from immediate family. Military personnel must also be vigilant about their credit ratings in order to preserve their security clearances. On top of these stresses, post-war force reductions may limit future military career opportunities for some service members.” - 2012 FINRA Investor Education Foundation report. STEP’s standard operating procedures focus on the following eligibility prerequisites: 1) the client is active duty military or a recently (with 18 months) honorably discharged veteran in the pay grade of E1-E6, and 2) the client resides in one of the seven supported counties (San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside and Imperial Counties).

The generosity extended by these caring folks help ensure our service members, veterans and their families receive a variety of gifts to help their families experience the true spirit of the holidays. "Thank you so much for providing the opportunity for me and my fellow (Wounded Warrior) caregivers to have a 'care-free' day in which we enjoyed ourselves without the worry of home life."
Behind every wounded warrior stands another courageous yet silent hero. The wives of our wounded service members stand strong and tall despite the challenges they face as they take on new roles as lifelong caregivers. These brave women are often forced to give up their careers and time with friends as they work around the clock to ensure their husbands receive the care and support that they need. Their lives are far from normal and more difficult than anyone could imagine. STEP organizes and hosts several events throughout the year to pay tribute to these extraordinary women. Whether it's a spa day at the luxurious La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad or a fun-filled day at the San Diego Zoo, our retreats provide these women with a quick getaway to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with other women who understand their pain and struggles.

It is an Educational Resource Street Fair.
Our military and veterans get many resources thrown at them for educational assistance. The barrage of information often places burden on them to try to navigate the unknown and can be overwhelming. STEP is focused at assisting our military and veterans to financial self-sufficiency and an education can be key in achieving this for one’s self and family.
Cammies to College is designed to introduce our military to all of the options available to them in using their educational benefits by bringing all the resources together in one place for one day, to be at the disposal of our military and veterans who want to learn more about further education.
Cammies to College bridges the information gap, by bringing together service providers and our military & veteran community, creating an opportunity for those thinking about furthering their education to gain valuable information on how to further their education, help them make more informed decisions, remove information barriers, and show them the support that exists.
Veterans and Active Duty welcome – bring your family and plan your future possibilities together.
